Danny brought the traditional otter pops for everyone and Ella had more than her fair share!
Watching the parade go by with Daddy and Grandpa Hafen. Everyone knows the best part of the parade is catching the stuff. This year Ella got a ton of candy, a "magic wand" thrown by the Fairy Godmother herself, a big beach ball, some bubbles and bunch of bead necklaces.
Kate enjoyed the parade from Grandma Hafen's lap. She slept through the entire thing. Thanks to Danny's uncle for setting up a big shade tent we were actually quite comfortable this year.
Ella at the end of the parade modeling some of her catch.
Then it was time for the family barbeque. Summer nights with family, good food and fireworks, can't ask for much more. This year Danny splurged on a bunch of fireworks from Wyoming so him and his brother sat and lit fireworks for what felt like hours. The kids had fun withe sparklers and the big kids had fun the bottle rockets.
At first Ella was scared of holding the sparkler but with me there to help her she had lots of fun. She was pretending it was a magic wand and saying "bibbity boppity boo."
By that point we had planned on going to a friend's for more fireworks but both girls were exhausted so we decided to call it a night. It was a great day.
