It's been awhile since I've devoted a post to an Ella update. And just a fair warning: it's going to be brag city.
She is growing and learning so fast it blows me away. I am amazed every single day at what a smart little girl she is becoming. She can hear something once and it is permanently a part of her memory. She knows her alphabet, can identify all of the letters and is working on the sounds they make. She knows her colors and numbers and can just about count to 20. She can spell her name and write it except for the "A" is a little tricky.
She loves to sing and is always singing a Mother Goose song, primary songs, the current songs from the radio and a lot of her own made up songs.
She's been potty trained since she was two and really hasn't had many accidents.
She is now sleeping in a big girl bed. We had her big girl room set up for a couple of months before we brought Kate home but she wasn't very interested in leaving her crib. I didn't want to push the issue and make her feel displaced so we were planning on letting Ella stay in her crib as long as she wanted and just having Kate sleep in our room in the mean time. Well the very day we brought Kate home Ella told us that now that Kate was here she was ready to sleep in her big girl bed. I was a little doubtful that it would actually work and that she'd stay in bed and get any sleep. She surprised me and slept through the night, didn't get out once and even started taking her naps in there. She rarely leaves her bed and is great at sleeping through the night and even giving me a much needed break by taking 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon.
Some of her favorite things to do are color and do "projects," read books, play on the iPad, play outside with friends, play in her dress ups, watch princess movies, dance and sing.
She is a bit of a picky eater. It's not that she won't eat certain things, it's that she doesn't have much of an appetite. She eats like a little bird. Her favorite foods are cheese, "white fish" (tilapia), taquitos, lasagna and Asian lettuce wraps.
