easter

Kate was born just a couple of days before Easter so things were a little crazy at our house.

But that didn't stop us from trying to uphold our traditions.

We started the month by having a special family home evening to talk about the meaning of Easter. We had an Easter egg hunt where Ella found numbered eggs with little items that told the story of Easter. She of course loved finding them and we repeated the activity a couple of times so she could tell us the story. We then made a little paper cut out of the tomb and Christ that she could re-enact finding an empty tomb.

Here she is telling us about how heavy and hard it was to push that big rock in front of the opening of the tomb.
The day before Easter we dyed Easter eggs. It was great fun to watch her drawings "magically" appear when we dipped them in the cup.
We tried to make Easter morning extra special since we'd just brought Kate home and Ella wasn't getting the attention she'd grown accustomed to.

The Easter bunny brought her a new balance bike and helmet. She loved riding it around the house. And by riding I mean walking around with it between her legs.

He also brought Peeps! Hooray!
But I think her favorite part was going on the Easter egg hunt around the house. The bunny may have gone a little crazy with how many eggs were hidden - even if they each held about one jelly bean.
