time for solids!

When Ella turned 6 months old we decided it was time to give her some "real" food. We're hippies so we decided to make it ourselves. It was super easy and I like knowing exactly what she's eating. We made squash, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots and applesauce.

Here she is before we started. Clean, happy and ready to go.

Getting tired of waiting for mom and dad to take pictures. Trying to just get the bowl herself.

After a couple of bites (Danny was videoing so there was no one left to take a pictures of the first taste).

"This is fun."
Another taste...

"Wait a minute. I'm not so sure about this stuff anymore."

"This is weird."

"Okay I'll try a little more just let me help this time."

"Yuck."

"Forget squash, I think I'll just study this weird thing around my neck."

As you can see. She had mixed feelings about squash. She seemed to like it at first but only wanted a couple of tastes and then was done. Since then we've tried other foods and by far her favorite is apples. We can shovel the spoon in her mouth fast enough when she's eating those. Her next choice is sweet potatoes those she'll at least finish. Everything else is still hit and miss.
