We had her 6 month appointment and she weighed in at 14 lbs 2 oz (15%), measured 25 inches long (23%) and had a head circumference of 16.5 inches (34%). She's still a little bean but we wouldn't want her any other way.
I've been holding on to these baby legs waiting for her to grow into them...they are still a little big on her tiny legs but we had her wear them anyway.
She's always trying to grab my jewelry (which is why I rarely wear any anymore) so she was surprised to have me put a necklace around her neck.
She immediately began studying it.
And then started laughing because it was so hilarious to have it around her neck!
Here are a few other random picture from the past month:
I think Ella is destined to be a Pilates instructor. This little girl is constantly doing "the hundred" position. You can tell she's working really hard here - her little tongue proves it.
She's also got another one of her favorites in this picture - she LOVES paper and tags. Her pillow pet has a wonderful, large tag and she is in heaven playing with it.
Danny was in Ella's room putting her down for a nap. It had been awhile so I went in to check on them and I found this. I'm not sure who wore who out first. You can definitely tell they are father and daughter in this picture.
Lately, Ella has been loving "drinking" (more like lapping) our drinks. She doesn't actually get anything but she feels like such a big girl holding the glass up to her face just like us. Whenever I have a drink she grabs for it and holds on tight to have a sip. Now I just know that if I'm having a drink of water to that I need to take turns with Ella. I try not to notice the drool on my cup.
"Hey I'm trying to drink here."
We have also discovered that Ella loves clothes! Every morning when I'm getting her dressed I let her stand up by her bottom drawer and look at her clothes. She squeals and kicks as she picks up and looks at her clothes.
They've also had some cute outfits at Costco lately so when we're there shopping I like to check out the new baby clothes. I hold up the clothes for her to look at she kicks and laughs. If we're getting one I let her hold it while we shop and she keeps a tight grip on it.
A few more fun things about Ella at six months:
- Her favorite toys are paper, my cell phone and the TV remote.
- She loves to eat "puffies." She hold her mouth open like a little bird waiting for us to feed them to her.
- She still loves to be sung to.
- She's gotten really good at rolling and rolls across the room to get to where she wants.
- She's still really social and smiles at anyone who will look at her. She loves attention.
- She really likes going outside. When we had those few days of nice weather we took her on a walk every day and she was in heaven. She sat there talking to herself, looking around and kicking her feet as we strolled through the neighborhood.
- She sleeps at night from about 7 to 7 getting up once in between to eat (on good nights we still have some not so good nights too). She's also getting pretty regular with her naps which is nice.
- A few weeks ago she decided she was no longer interested in bottles no matter if it was pumped milk or formula. So we had to resort to putting a little apple juice in with the formula to bribe her into drinking it. Mommy needs to be able to leave once in awhile.
- She's all of the sudden developed a fear of loud noises. So vacuuming, blow drying my hair and using the blender are a bit of challenge.
