I could write 10 posts about our honeymoon - it was so much fun! - but I'll spare you and just stick to the highlights:
- Trying to find our hotel while exhausted from traveling all day, in the dark, while it was POURING rain and arriving at midnight. I thought it was hilarious - Danny not so much.
- Checking into our GORGEOUS room complete with big kitchen, ocean and pool views and a bathtub on the balcony.
- Grocery shopping in Mexico.
- Danny cooking a big breakfast every morning and eating it out on our balcony.
- Driving around in our little stick shift "Pointer" with me reading the map and getting us completely lost - multiple times.
- Visiting the ruins at Tulum. While there getting 20 mosquito bites in under 3 minutes resulting in us purchasing one small bottle of bug spray for $10.
- Me holding a monkey.
- Danny holding a snake.
- Topes. These are speed bumps randomly in the middle of the busy freeway type road. We tried to watch for the signs but we kept missing them and launching our poor little Pointer into the air - it was a blast. After one such trip we actually had to get air in the tires. Good thing it was a rental!
- Eating at the nice restaurant at the hotel with the ocean just 10 feet away.
- Snorkeling with the sea turtles.
- Getting pulled over by a Mexican police officer! He was going to give us a speeding ticket but Danny used his mad Spanish skills and talked him out of it! Lucky us!
- Laying out and reading on the beach and by the pool.
- Late night beach walks and seeing the little crabs scurrying around.
- Making caramel popcorn and watching movies at night.
- Snorkeling right off the beach and seeing jelly fish! Scary!
- Kayaking in the ocean.
- Walking, shopping and eating on 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen.
- 100% Natural. Twice. Delicious.
- Going on a zip line across a big lake.
- Repelling down into a cenote (underground fresh water-filled cave) to swim. The cave was filled with bats and the water with catfish so I was not a fan and tried to keep as much of my body out of the water as possible. And I'm pretty sure a bat pooped on my tube.
- Danny using his Spanish skills.
- Hiking through the jungle.
- Visiting Coba and hiking up the tallest Myan temple in Mexico.
- Riding bikes through the Myan ruins.
- Waking up early and watching the sun rise together.
- Time was non existent - the Pointer didn't have a clock and we both kept our phones off so we ate when hungry and slept when tired.
- No outside distractions. No cell phones, no email - just us.
- Walking along the beach.
- Two words to describe my hair - FRIZZ BALL! Let's just say air drying and humidity are not a good mix with my hair!
- So fun and so relaxing!
