4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th this year! Have I mentioned before how much more fun holidays are with a child? It's like you get to relive all the fun stuff through them. I love it. And the 4th has always been one of our favorite holidays. What's not to love? Sun, parades, bbq, family, fireworks.

We started the day by attending the one and only Kaysville parade. I love how the whole community comes out. It's nuts. We were lucky that my sister just built a house right by main street so we could park in her drive way and then walk over the spot they'd reserved for us. (By going out Saturday at 12:01 am when the city allows you to set out your stuff.)

Ella in her very own pink parade chair. She looks so grown up. Crazy that last year at the parade I was still pregnant!
Our family at the parade decked out in our red, white and blue.
Ella's favorite part of the parade was the otter pops that her daddy kept giving her. She was pretty much in heaven.
And then there was the taffy that was being thrown. She got her hands on some and tried to bite into it through the wrapper before her mean mom took it away.
And then there is her new love. A stuffed buffalo puppet that her dad caught (they throw out all sorts of stuff at the parade...Danny also caught a tie). She crawls around with it in her hand all day and is always giving it hugs.
Later that day we went over to Danny's parents house for a fun barbecue. Her sweet uncle Spencer helped her play a little soccer with the rest of kids. She loved "running" and kicking the ball.

We finished the day by staying up way past her bedtime and going to see the Layton city fireworks. She glanced up at the fireworks a few times but was mainly interested in crawling around and emptying her diaper bag.

It was a fun day and we had lots of fun spending time with family and enjoying summer!
